Using greywater for vegitable gardening is perfectly safe as long as one washes the crop before consumption just as one would do with fresh vegetables bought from the shops.

I planted a garden this year and used the grey water from the bathroom sink, shower, and laundry room.
The water then is rerouted underground, and I planted my garden on top of the area where the water has been to.
The grey water pipes are at least 2 feet in the ground below the garden, but does not sit there since the underground system of pipes keep on going pass the garden and into other pipes pass the garden.
I know that it does help water the garen though.
The grey water is never sprayed on on top of my plants or on top of the soil of the garden.
I also water the garden with clean city water.
Is it safe to eat the vegetables from the garden, such as Okra, Squash, Tomatoes, Jalepeno peppers.

Thank you.

Hydropower is indeed a great source of generating power and to some degree it allows the grid to supply a greater base load even when power use levels drop.
Hydropower would just require us to have water in our dams and that does not always seem to be the case.

What about hydro. it produces about 5% of south africas electricity. but some may argue that it causes more pollution by the rotting vegetation which produce methane. what about the potential for bioenergy? south africa has a lot of sugar cane, which once processed, the waste can be used to generate electricity by conversion to baggas.

Dear Helen.
Treating this water through a bio-digestion process will make this water safe for use in a vegetable garden. Feel free to contact us for further information.
